Born and raised in Sweden, she left the country at the age of 20 for a life in international waters. In 2002, she graduated in geography, agriculture, geoinformatics and environmental management from Humboldt University in Berlin and began an international career in participatory rural development. In 2009, she moved back to the Swedish countryside with her family and worked as a LAG manager in the Halland CLLD in south-west Sweden. In 2013, she co-founded Sweden's national LEADER network and was chair of ELARD 2020-22. She founded the ELARD knowledge centre, which she now manages alongside her role as vice-president of ELARD and CLLD Halland.
